What was the core challenge?

Trustees hold ultimate responsibility for safeguarding, but conventional compliance training can leave them knowing their obligations without feeling equipped to apply them. The DofE wanted an experience that would build confidence, encourage informed challenge and help Trustees provide positive safeguarding leadership.

Snowfish worked with the DofE’s Safety and Safeguarding Team to research what Trustees genuinely needed to be able to do. That analysis produced a new, memorable framework built around Three Questions: What do we need to know? What do we need to see? What do we need to do?

How did we structure the solution?

Interactive conversations, realistic dilemmas and guided reflection placed Trustees inside the decisions they may genuinely face. The Three Questions and their enabling guidance became a practical toolkit they could continue using in Board discussions and beyond the learning experience.

What was the measurable impact?

The result was more than an explanation of statutory responsibilities. It helped Trustees become the informed, constructive critical friends their charity needs, able to ask better questions, recognise what good safeguarding looks like and act with confidence.
